Micellar water is hands down the best way to remove your makeup at the end of the day. The sad part is that I didn’t start using it till about 8 months ago. I was extremely late on that bandwagon, but it really doesn’t matter when the product is truly great at what it does.
Disclaimer: I am NOT a youtube beauty guru at all, makeup is not my life and I don’t do it for a living. TYSM
I will say that makeup has become a favorite hobby of mine over the past 3 years. No professional here. Just an opinion of a woman that likes makeup, wears it occasionally, and is currently working on her skills.
Sensitive & Gentle
By far the best thing about micellar water is the fact that it does not burn or irritate my skin while removing my makeup. I mean I have tried some makeup wipes that made me feel like my face was melting off. They truly were that bad. They would also leave my face red and highly irritated.
If you are someone with sensitive skin like me then you would love this stuff. Not only is it gentle, but it does remove every ounce of makeup.
The one downside from my experience is that you will have to use at least 2-3 cotton rounds to get the job done. Honestly it isn’t a real downside, I guess I’m just being extra cheap.
If you happen to be somewhat cheap about your cotton rounds too, then rest easy at least knowing that micellar water is very affordable.
Right now my favorite brand is the Garnier SkinActive All-in-1 micellar cleansing water. You can get a typical 13.5 oz. bottle for around $7.00 at Walmart and Target. Be sure to check those places first because at Ulta its $8.99.
Micellar water easily removes everything from cakey foundation to waterproof eyeliner. There is no need to scrub your face! Just take a cotton pad and gently wipe to remove all the dirt and oil.
The micelle molecules in the water form together to remove all dirt and impurities on contact. Easy, simple, and highly effective. It leaves your face cleansed and refreshed, far from being dry.
If you are loyal to makeup wipes, some brands now have micellar water wipes too.
